This page explains how copyright notices and counter notices work on Nudzy under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). It is a plain-language summary; the text of the statute governs.
Report copyright infringement
If you own the copyright in a work, or are authorized to act for the owner, and it was posted on Nudzy without permission, send a notice through the copyright report form. You don't need an account. Under § 512(c)(3), a notice must include substantially the following, and the form asks for each item:
- Your physical or electronic signature (on the form, your full legal name).
- Identification of the copyrighted work — or, if several works are affected, a representative list of them.
- Identification of the material on Nudzy that you want removed, with links precise enough for us to find it.
- Information to contact you: postal address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Intimate images or videos of you posted without your consent don't need a copyright claim: report them as shared without consent.

Counter notice
If material you uploaded was removed or disabled because of a copyright notice and you believe this happened by mistake or because the material was misidentified, you can send a counter notice. Under § 512(g)(3) it must be a written communication to the designated agent that includes substantially the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and the location (link) where it appeared before.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Federal District Court for the judicial district of your address — or, if your address is outside the United States, of any judicial district in which the service provider may be found — and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
Designated agent: pending. The agent's name and contact details will be published on this page once they have been designated. Until then this page lists no address for counter notices.
After a counter notice
Once a valid counter notice is received, a copy goes promptly to the person who sent the original notice, together with the information that the material will be restored in 10 business days (§ 512(g)(2)(B)). The material is restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after the counter notice was received, unless the designated agent first receives notice that the complainant has filed an action seeking a court order to restrain you from infringing activity relating to the material (§ 512(g)(2)(C)). We count business days as Monday to Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.
A counter notice only answers the copyright notice. If the same material is also held back because of another report, it stays unavailable until that case is decided.
False claims
Anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, can be liable for the resulting damages, including costs and attorneys' fees (§ 512(f)).
